Objective:   The intention of this course is to introduce the student to the networking Concept together with the real world network-application design & configuration & setup, and network equipment installation & configuration & setup.

Marks Allocation:

  • Lab Performance   30%

  • Lab Report             20%

  • Midterm Exam       20% (practical 10%,written 10%)

  • Final Exam              30% (practical 15%,written 15%)

  1. Introduction to Networking concept and equipment

  2. Cisco router fundamental / Simulation

  3. Window Server 2003

  4. Cisco router Configurations (WAN)

  5. Cisco router Configurations (WAN+Modem)

  6. Software Firewall

   Review ( Midterm Exam)

  1. Virtual Lan (VLAN)

  2. DSLAM with ADSL technology

  3. Cisco VoIP configuration

    • FXS-FXO

    • FXS-FXS

  4. Plextel VoIP IP-PBX (Basic)

    • SIP Protocol / Rules

    • Incoming / Outgoing Calls

    • IVR

  5. Plextel VoIP IP-PBX (Advanced)

    • Site-to-Site Connection

    • Redundancy

  Review ( Final Exam)

Rules & Regulations

  1. Late more than 20 minutes  will result in NO attendance marks for that class.

  2. Lab Report must be submitted with in 7 days after finishes the lab. Late submitting will result as mark deduction for 10% per day.

Remarks

  1. Lab Report must be submitted as hardcopy.

  2. Copied lab-report will not be accepted.
